Michael Chapman www.michaelchapman.co.uk
This self-styled old white blues guy from Yorkshire is one of the most under-rated heroes of our time. He has a unique English melancholic perspective and an emotive guitar style .....
Brilliant guitar player and superb melancholy songwriting spanning 40 years on the road: “Chapman shared with JJ Cale a penchant for understatement, smoky vocals and beautifully tasteful guitar, .… and to his devotees like the late John Peel they've never been anything short of an inspired commentary on the human condition " Guitar & Bass Magazine.
James Findlay - The James Findlay Trio www.jamesfindlay.co.uk
After winning the 2010 BBC Young Folk Award James released the 'Sport and Play' album in February 2011 to great critical acclaim. Since then James has released another Another Day, another story, & is currently working on a fourth album with his new band. It is set for release on Fellside Records in mid 2014.
James' enthusiasm lies firmly within the English tradition, amply illustrated by the three fine albums he has recorded so far.
"Bloody hell, what a voice! " Jon Boden

Joe Topping - Joe Topping & The Vagrant Kings
Joe Topping is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the Wirral, whose musical journey so far has been as colourful as it has varied. Joe has always been surrounded by music. Many influences filtered down to Joe who plays anything from traditional British folk music to Delta blues slide guitar. Joe also “has a gift to write songs that will last and that others will want to sing” John Wright. And “one of the most beautiful voices I have heard” Chris While. At gigs you are just as likely to hear him playing the mandolin, bouzouki, harmonica, dobro or banjo as you are the guitar.
'The Liberty to Choose'
Showcasing songs from the landmark collection,The New Penguin Book of English Folk Songs' Featuring Brian Peters, Lucy Ward, James Findlay & Jackie Oates .
The Liberty to Choose is a very special performance showcasing songs from the landmark collection, The New Penguin Book of English Folk Songs. Under the direction of distinguished singer and musician Brian Peters, three of the best young performers on the current folk scene – Jackie Oates, James Findlay and Lucy Ward – combine to perform a selection of traditional songs, including several familiar titles in intriguingly different versions. First recorded in 2013 on the CD of the same name (Fellside Records FECD257) the arrangements run from ensemble pieces with fiddles, guitar and melodeon, to stunning unaccompanied singing and vocal harmony.
